- מַסֵּכָהI f. (b. h.; נָסֵךְ) molten image. Snh.103b (play on Is. 28:20 והמסכהוכ׳) כונס כנד מי הים תֵּעָשֶה לו מ׳ צרה should a molten image be made a rival to him ‘who gathers the waters of the sea together like heaps?; Num. R. s. 7; Yoma 9b. Sifra Kdosh., beg. (idols are called) מ׳ע״ש שהם ניסוכים massekhah, because they are cast.
